Napping

I love to nap. I often take one. I'm not sure why but I have since I was little. In college the girls on my floor thought I was nuts. When I started working full time at the National Soil Tilth Lab I barely made it throw the day because I could not take a nap. My little desk area with in the lab so I couldn't take one. I like my job now much better because I have many options for napping. My boss even provides a bed, heh. The only problem is I have to share ;)

Doing Fine

Not much is going on right now which is fine with me. We had a camp out last weekend. Our troop hosted between 15-18 Webelos up at Camp Chesebough in the Santa Cruz mountains. It was a good time but lots of work. Our scouts did a fantastic job teaching the Webelos everything from fire building to knot tying. Adult leaders helped out with archery and ax throwing (very popular ;))

I'm slowly getting me sweater done, very slowly. I think I might have it done before it gets warm again. . . maybe. Here it is so far.

It was oh so thin but ohhh sooo delicious.

Lego New Year

We had a very quiet, relaxed holiday with friends. John thought it might be fun to make a board game out of Lego but insisted the only way to get at the lego was to dump the barrel. Even thought it is a huge mess I have to agree and the kids freaked on having it so available.

AND Juno had to test it for bathing ;)

A Word About Ginger

I love ginger. But it is the biggest pain ever. I don't use it in that many dishes but using fresh is so much more yummy. The thing is I buy fresh and it goes bad after a while, well or drys up. Then I need it again but don't have any *sigh*. When my Mom came to visit for Thanksgiving I lamented about my ginger dilemma. She said freeze it. What! Really, you mean in the freezer, really!? She said just drop it in a baggie and chuck it in the freezer. You don't even need to peel it. Pft. Yeah right.

I just used some of what I chucked in the freezer and oh my gosh!! What a beautiful thing. The peel comes right off and then I just used a sharp paring knife to shave off what I wanted. Love you Mom!!!!

I am using it to make Gingered Chicken Bacon Bites.

Christmas 2010

We are having a great Christmas. The day started very early, 6am. Last night we forgot to order Max's gift to Derek online. John was up with me so everything turned out fine. Both boys gave each other virtual gifts that they will have in World of Warcraft ;)

We decided the tree lights should defiantly be on for gift opening. We voted Max for the job, LOL.

Christmas 2010

After we opened gifts John helped set up my new i-Pad!!!!!!! And he is now playing his big gift, Rock Band III. We got lots of great stuff :)
