We have another Boy Scout!

Last Friday Maxwell crossed over to boy scouts. 13 other boys bridged to various other troops. Derek's troop, 234, built the monkey bridge that was used in the ceremony.

The next day was Max's first service project. Our troop went to adobe Peralta to help lay sand paths around the grounds. I had no idea that San Jose was the first settlement in the area. I learned a lot. The adobe was very cool to. They had a whale bone chair!

I finished Max's costume. We had the costume check last week. At first they said his pants were to short but then they said it was way funny and so they don't want them changed. We also need to get him new shoes because his black costume shoes are to small.

New friend

We have a new friend in the house. Well he is John's friend. I have not put in his mouth so mostly he just grumbles. He is a Grumpasaurus. He complains about everything but mostly his open head. I hope he does not like the taste of chicken! That was going to be my next project.

Cats are Nuts

Juno loves John's shoes. Usually she is satisfied with sleeping on or near them but the other day she just needed a more internal experience I guess, LOL. For several minutes she had her entire head inside his shoe. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen her do.

Surgery Day

Sac Boy had face surgery today. He is doing fine and seems to be in good spirits. I think he is very happy to see and speak now ;) I put in his zipper this morning so now he has a proper tummy as well. I'm having trouble with his hands though. The instructions are strange. I may try knitting one just from my head and see what happens. Max is looking forward to his last procedure, head attachment!

I hope Mom can use a really LONG scarf. I was not sure how long it would block. LOL I guess now I know,heh.

I've also been working on making baby hats and market bags for a boutique in May. I am going to have a little table to sell things. So far I have 3 hats and 1 bag.

Pants are done. I have the belt pattern drawn on a paper sack. I'd like to make a few more adjustments to it before I start cutting. For sure I will get the ears and tail done today. The tail attaches to the pants somehow and the ears get sewn into the hat. I've been thinking about construction of the hat. I don't think it will be to hard. I am going to wait until the weekend for that so Max will be around for fittings as I make the pattern.
