My intentions for this bag are to take to the grocery store. I don't know how far the news has spread but San Francisco was thinking of baning plastic grocery bags. You know if it passes in San Fran then it won't be long before it reaches us. Most stores now sell reusable bags that are made of some kind of biodegradable cloth. So i figured i would try my hand at a string market bag and save some money. I plan on making at leased 2 more.
Oh FYI at least at the IKEA in East Palo Alto you have to BUY the plastic bags they offer. My mom and i did not know last time we went. I guess it is a new thing, maybe their way of trying to discourage plastic bags. Instead of buying the bags we carefully stacked our stuff in the cart.

wow! String bag look cool!!! It is just macramay nots? We have a "bag" lady that hangs in the utility room and is stuffed to bursting..... can you e0-mail me the instructions for the bag? I'd love to try making one.
